In Samaria, many believed because of Jesus’ word, without any sign. They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world” (John 4:41-42). Unlike the Galileans who welcomed Him for signs seen in Jerusalem (John 4:45), the Samaritans trusted His truth directly. Are we seeking something sensational or do we simple trust the Word of the Lord? Signs and miracles are good and designed by God to give tangible and visible proof of the person of Jesus and His deity. Yet, if that is all we see we are missing the point. The signs are given to point us to Jesus. He is God. He is the Savior! Lord, move my faith beyond visible proofs or emotional highs. Let me hear and believe Your word alone, finding You as Savior.
