Growing in Intimacy
Focus Verse: John 15:5 – “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”
Reflection: John’s closeness to Jesus placed him in sacred moments, like witnessing the Transfiguration, where Jesus’ glory shone like the sun (Matthew 17:1–2). At the cross, Jesus entrusted John with caring for His mother, Mary, showing deep trust in him (John 19:26–27). Known as the “disciple whom Jesus loved,” John’s intimacy with Christ grew through faithful presence. Abiding in Jesus brings us into His glory and entrusts us with His purposes.
Application: Reflect on a moment when you felt close to Jesus. How can you cultivate that intimacy daily through prayer, worship, or Scripture? Ask God to draw you into His presence and trust you with His work.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for inviting me into Your presence. Deepen my relationship with You, and help me be faithful to the tasks You entrust to me. Amen.
