“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and… God himself will be with them as their God.”
(Revelation 21:3)
Christmas is not the story of God who came and then left. It is the beginning of the story of the God who came and is coming again. The baby in the manger is the down-payment on the day when God will pitch His tent with us forever—no more tears, no more death, no more goodbyes.
The God who became Immanuel at Bethlehem will be Immanuel face-to-face in the New Jerusalem.
Come, Lord Jesus! You came once in humility to save us; come again in glory to keep us. Until that day, let every heartbeat whisper: “Emmanuel—God is with us”, and one day God will be fully, finally, forever with us.
