“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14 ESV) “…who, though he was in the form of God… emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” (Philippians 2:6–7 ESV)
The One who spoke galaxies into being let Himself be laid in a feeding trough. The hands that flung stars into space were tiny, wrinkled, and helpless. Immanuel means the Creator didn’t just make us—He moved into our neighborhood, breathed our air, and walked our dusty roads. He who said, “Let there be light,” learned to walk by candlelight. He who “upholds the universe by the word of his power” grew tired, hungry, and thirsty—just like us.
The God who owns you because He made you, loved you enough to become like you.
Thank You for stepping out of eternity into my messy world. I belong to You twice—by creation and by redemption.
