In Jerusalem, many believed in Jesus’ name when they saw the signs He was doing. But Jesus on His part did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all people and needed no one to bear witness about man, for He Himself knew what was in man (John 2:23-25 ESV). Jesus sees the heart. He knows what superficial belief is based on wonders and what is deep trust. He knows our sinful nature. He knows when we are seeking a sign-something sensational or truly seeking the Savior. Search my heart, Lord. Is my faith genuine, born of Your Spirit, or do I chase signs? Renew me from within.
