The Call to Discipleship
Scripture: Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Christian discipleship begins with Jesus’ Great Commission, calling us to make disciples who learn, follow, and emulate Him. A disciple is more than a student—it’s someone in an intimate relationship with Christ, trusting His teachings as the rule of life. A disciple is someone who imitates Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:1). To truly be a disciple we must know Jesus! We must study Him and know Him through the Word of God.
Are you actively following Jesus to become like Him? To embrace the life of a disciple of Jesus do what the disciples did-spend time with Jesus. Read God’s Word daily and pursue a life of obedience.
