The Freedom We Breathe
Isaiah 33:22 “For the LORD is our judge; the LORD is our lawgiver; the LORD is our king; he will save us.”
America’s three branches of government echo this verse. We have a judiciary, legislative and executive branch of government. The division of power is meant to protect our freedoms. The Liberty Bell quotes Leviticus 25:10, “proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants”. The Magna Carta in England was forced on a king by Bible-believing barons. The idea that rulers answer to God—and that conscience is inviolable—exploded out of pulpits, not parliaments.
Every vote you cast, every time you speak freely, every protection against tyranny is borrowed capital from the Gospel. Let’s thank God for our freedoms realizing the freedoms we enjoy are based on Bible principles.
